This article contains spoilers for American Horror Story: Apocalypse.

The season premiere of American Horror Story was viewed by over 3 million people when it aired on Wednesday, September 12th, 2018. My jaw was on the ground for the entire 46 minutes in awe of the amount of symbology that oozed out of every moment. The following includes a small portion of the clues found in the episode, and how the related conspiracy theories might directly affect you.

The Fall of the City of Angels

The show opens in Los Angeles with stereotypical billionaire drama queen, Coco, getting her hair cut in a classy salon. She expresses her desire to pursue a career path of pure vanity and projected happiness, becoming an Instagram influencer.

1. URGENT ALERT: BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND

Everyone in the salon receives an alarming message on their phones. The familiar setting and pop culture references used in this scene are designed for the viewers to allow them to easily empathize with the characters. This creates a comfortable environment, and will help the viewer ask themselves later, “What would I do if this happened to me?”

The intro of the show uses imagery of time lapsed burning candles, hourglasses, and devastating scenery to represent the idea that time running out. Could 2:47 be a warning that we are running out of time and we need to be prepared 24/7?

Hollywood takes pride in their attention to detail. Everything on the screen is designed in intricate detail. Everything has a meaning.

Coco: “It’s a hoax. It’s like that time in Hawaii. They’re going to text in like a minute with a retraction.”

The episode wastes no time referencing the terrifying alert Hawaii received on January 13th of this year.

“Shortly after 8 a.m. local time Saturday, scores of Hawaii residents received an emergency cellphone alert with an alarming message: “BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.” The message, reportedly sent by the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency in error, would turn out to be a false alarm, officials said. Nevertheless, it would take 38 minutes for authorities to clear up the mistake with a follow-up alert.” – The Washington Post

In numerology, the number 8 is directly related to the concept of karma, the Universal Spiritual Law of Cause and Effect. 8 appears twice, further emphasizing its importance. The number 0 references the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.

Karma. Alpha. Omega. Karma. The time 8:08 may have been chosen for a reason.

Could this be an instance of synchronicity? Or is there a more profound message to uncover?

Let’s not forget, FEMA announced they will be sending out emergency alerts on Thursday, September 20th, to test the emergency communications system.

“The wireless emergency alerts (WEA) system was authorized by Congress in 2015 under a law that states the “system shall not be used to transmit a message that does not relate to a natural disaster, act of terrorism, or other man-made disaster or threat to public safety.”–Dennis Romero, NBC News

Everyone is in complete denial of the danger until Coco receives a terrifying facetime call in which she watches her family die in a nuclear blast. AHS (American Horror Story) uses Coco to demonstrate how they predict the world will react to a shocking catastrophic event. The alerts were real and nuclear bombs devastated the planet. Could AHS be trying to warn us to take action before it’s too late?

2.  Your DNA for Sale

In AHS, the mysterious group referred to as “The Cooperative” used genetic information to find teens Timothy and Emily, apparent genetic superiors and prime candidates to survive the blast. Timothy is informed that The Cooperative learned of his genetic makeup through his submission to an ancestry website.

A popular theory suggests that DNA collection kits, like the ones sold by 23andMe and Ancestry.com, exist as a way to collect our DNA voluntarily. Ancestry Companies advertise how fun it can be to learn about your family history, but could they have a dark agenda? These companies are growing the FBI database to the largest it’s ever been, with recent reports showing 3.5% of the country’s DNA on file.

“The long game here is not to make money selling kits, although kits are essential to get the base level data. Once you have the data, the company actually becomes the google of personalized health care.” –23andMe Board Member

It seems Ancestry Companies might be working with the FBI and playing the long game. By harvesting DNA from the population and preserving the samples in BioBanks, they are setting up the perfect business plan.

When this technology is inevitably marketed to the public, it is likely that you will need a DNA sample from the age at which you’d like to be regressed.

Could Ancestry Companies be planning to sell you back your young frozen DNA in your old age to make billions?

3. Telepathy with Extraterrestrials

Timothy and Emily are moved to a fallout shelter where they meet other people who were chosen to survive the blast. Some of which, like the billionaire Coco, are not genetically superior but instead purchased tickets for $100 million. They are informed that there is a new class system in the shelter, separating the Purples, the elites, from the Grays, the workers.

This wouldn’t be the first time that AHS discussed life on other planets. Could the Grays also be a reference to the alien species referred to as the Greys?

“In your mind, you have capacities, you know, to telepath messages through the vast unknown. Close your eyes and concentrate with every thought you think…You’ve been observing our earth and we’d like to make a contact with you.” – Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft, The Carpenters

The inhabitants of the bunker are forced to listen to this song on repeat all day and all night. This music video from the 70s for “Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft” starts out with an ET species calling into a radio show saying “We are observing your planet and would like to make contact with you.”

What could the message of this song be? Might it confirm that the non-elite Grays from AHS are in reference to the ET species? Could the boy’s school, previously run in the bunker before it was converted to a fallout shelter, have been studying telepathy and other supernatural talents? Might they have been attempting contact with ET? Perhaps the creators of AHS want to seed our consciousness with the idea of possible ET telepathic contact.

The song was said to have been on repeat 24/7 for two weeks in the bunker. Could this be a reference to the time stamp of the urgent alert that gave warning of the nuclear threat, 2:47?

What could this mean?

Popular TV Shows like AHS have a massive cult following. The premiere episode of Season 8 reached over 3 million viewers according to The Wrap. TV shows like these provide extensive opportunities for our minds to be seeded with ideas, both good and bad. This episode ends with the arrival of the leader of The Cooperative, the antichrist, who has come to judge the occupants to find out who is worthy to live and who to die. This suggests that the bunker was symbolic of purgatory, and also that the nuclear war followed by nuclear winter could be symbolically related to the Great Tribulation described in Revelations.
