Have you ever had a dream that you were in school?

Perhaps when this happens, on some level we really are in school. Perhaps our soul travels to mystical schools while we dream to learn important lessons meant to be stored in our subconscious until we really need them.

What Could These Dreams Mean?

Dreaming about being in school can be the result of feeling an inadequacy and anxiety about your ability to navigate your own life. If you are no longer in school, these dreams may point to unresolved childhood issues. The dream may also reflect a life lesson that you need to learn, so pay attention.

If you go back to school for any other reason besides taking a test, usually there is a lesson that you need to remember from your school days. There may be an opportunity to learn something in life that the dream is trying to bring to your attention.

You could be being brought back to a childhood memory that needs to be addressed. The grade you are in may indicate the level of maturity you are at in the dream. Something in your waking life might be reminding you of someone or something from your past when you were in school.

Which Level of School Were You In?

Elementary school: Can indicate something that is simple or fundamental in your life is possibly being perceived to be more difficult than it really is.

High school: May represent coming from your subconscious and the lesson being learned may be of high importance.

College: May represent a reference to your college days or a relationship from that period; may represent a lesson to be learned; or it may suggest you are experimenting or trying something new, as college students often do.

Student vs Teacher

A student may represent an aspect of yourself where you have an opportunity to learn something new in waking life that you may not be taking advantage of.

A teacher may represent an aspect of yourself that teaches others or is teaching yourself, either in the dream or in waking life. This can also represent your “higher self”, spirit or a guide.
